Frequently Ask Questions

Are your kennels heated and air conditioned?

Do you offer food to feed the animals or should we bring our own?  What types of food do you offer?

Yes, the temperature inside Royal Pet Resort is closely monitored to ensure optimum comfort for all our animal guests!

We do ask that your bring your pets food. We also carry the ADULT formulas  Iams, Pro-Plan Chicken & Rice, and Purina One Lamb & Rice.  The charge for food is $1.00 per feeding for small dogs (under 50 lbs) $2.00 per feeing for large dogs . If your pet is used to a different diet, we welcome you to bring their food along (please be sure to bring extra, incase your trip is extended). We have a full kitchen and can easily accommodate foods that need to be refrigerated or frozen.

Do you have experience with rare or exotic pets?

My pet requires a special diet. Do you accommodate this?

Special diets are not a problem for us at the Royal Pet Resort.  We have a full kitchen with a refrigerator, freezer and microwave oven for special diets if needed. We are able to accommodate most feeding schedules, just be sure to mark all feeding instructions clearly

We provide the dishes for all guests.  At the end of each day the stainless steel bowls are sterilized so we ask for ease of the process that you leave your pets dishes at home and we just use ours. You may bring any bedding for you dog that you would like. At times, some pets will tear at a bed that they may normally not do damage to at home. If there is any concern about this please leave your bedding at home and we will provide warm and comfortable bedding of our own. Please keep in mind we do have a washer and dryer, and we will do out best to keep it clean and in good shape.

Yes of course! Royal Pet Resort welcomes all kinds of animals, from dogs and cats to macaws to iguanas! Becky Koleno, the owner, is certified in care and husbandry of Avian and Exotic Animals. In addition, all staff members are fully trained in the husbandry and all aspects of care of our exotic guests.

What should I bring with my pet to the Royal Pet Resort?

Do I need to bring my dog’s bed & bowls?

Do you administer medication?

YES!  Our staff members are trained in proper administration techniques for oral, topical and injectable medications. We typically keep a supply of peanut butter, cheese, and pill pockets to help entice picky eaters to consume their medications.

Is there 24 hour supervision on site?

Of course! The owner lives on the property, and our staff checks on your pets on an hourly basis throughout the day.

-You will need to bring vaccine certificates from your vet.  We cannot keep your pet without these!  You may also bring a dog bed if your pet has one at home.  If you choose not to, we can provide one.  Toys are bones may be brought as well. Please bring only toys/bones that your pet is used to.  This is not the time to experiment with new treats.

How are dogs chosen to participate in group play?

-Dogs must have some experience with socialization and be spayed or neutered if over seven months of age.  They must also pass our Temperament Test.  Once a dog is chosen, they are put into a group based on size, temperament, and play styles. Our staff is well trained on understanding dog interactions and group dynamics. We offer extensive staff training in order to make this a controlled, safe, fun experience for all.

"We've been taking our dogs to the Royal Pet Resort for 10 years, and I wouldn't even consider taking them elsewhere. From puppies to seniors, our dogs have always been in wonderful hands there and I know they are being taken excellent care of while we are away. While on our most recent trip on a cruise...the Royal Pet Resort allowed me to keep in touch with them and gave me updates on how our dogs were doing - I really appreciated that as our one dog is a senior with some mobility issues and the other a puppy who was making her first visit to the kennel. They take the time to get to know your dogs and you can tell they care for them as if they are their own. Prince, Diva (sadly now passed away, but went to the Royal Pet Resort her whole life), Roxy, and I all thank everyone at the Royal Pet Resort for taking such good care of our fur babies while we are away!"

"My dog Lucy is two and a half. She is 120lbs., half black lab, half mastiff. She's a big, lovable lapdog, but she still has puppy tendencies and gets stuck in a crate for too long when we have to travel with her, so we decided to try the Royal Pet Resort this time. It was a great decision! She saw how fun everything was and didn't even look back when we dropped her off. I'm pretty sure she wants to go back even though we are all home now! I was pleased with the care, the facilities, and the staff, and happy that my girl got a good vacation with TLC even though she couldn't come with us."

"My dogs have been going to Royal Pet Resort for years when we go on vacation and they (and I) absolutely love it. They come back from being kenneled happy and tired from all of their playtime. I have a older dog who wants to play with other dogs, but just gets too tired, so Royal Pet tracks her playtime so she only goes out every other day and will keep her in if ever she seems tired. I trust them with my furry family."
